About O-1 visa*

O-1 visa is designed for people with extraordinary abilities in arts or motion picture(O-1B), or in business, science, or athletes (O-1A). Once approved, it serves to allow you to excel in your field in the U.S., meaning that it gives you an authorization to work for U.S. employers.

Criteria

In order to apply for an O-1 visa, you need to meet at least 3 of the following criteria:

•You received a prestigious award

•You are a member of a prestigious organization in your field

•You and your work were covered in media outlets or press

•You have made significant contributions to your field (through inventions or other innovative solutions)

•You were a judge of the work of other people in your field

•You published articles as an author

•You played critical role for your organization

•Your pieces of art received critical acclaim and were commercially successful

•You receive high salary or other renumeration for your services as opposed to others in the field
